Resume:

Castleton Homes founder, Hector Van Lennep, has an extensive resume in construction. Hector began his career in construction while in high school working part time for a local construction company and quickly learned that would be his career path. He was awarded a scholarship from the Association of General Contractors and attended the University of Florida. Hector graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the UF Rinker School of Construction Management in 1991.

Directly after graduation Hector went to work for McDevit and Street, an $800 million annual revenue construction company and he was placed in Miami, Florida. His first project with McDevitt and Street was a $36 million dollar, 42 story luxury condominium located in downtown Miami. Hector worked on that project from the time they broke ground through the final close out of that project.

Hector was later hired by the developer of the above project, Turnberry Associates to assist in developing a $300 million dollar residential project in North Miami. Hector would oversee the construction of a 24 slip marina, an 8 story low rise condominium, 24 townhouse units and a $58 million dollar, 32 story luxury condominium. This project exposed Hector to many forms of construction types and practices while also exposing him to the finer finishes of residential construction. Many of the project’s standard finishes were imported from Italy and Hector worked with both project buyers and designers to customize their purchases.

In 1999, Hector relocated to Amelia Island and began the single family home phase of his career. He was a co-owner of an Arthur Rutenberg franchise and successfully constructed over 75 single family homes.

In 2010, Hector started the next phase of his construction career and incorporated Castleton Homes.

During his career he has been exposed to most all aspects of construction from the structural elements of high rise buildings to the finer details of finishes. He prides himself on being able to work well with all involved in the construction process. Hector has the attention to detail which makes the residential construction process enjoyable and rewarding for all.

His wife Lori, who has 15 years of experience in construction management and customer relations, joins Hector in his passion to provide a professional and enjoyable building process for all.
